This site was created, and the podcast is hosted, by Douglas Wolk. Douglas has read every Marvel superhero comic book, and has written a book about it, All of the Marvels (Penguin), which will be published in Fall 2021. He’s written about comics, pop music and technology for the New York Times, the Washington Post, Time, Rolling Stone, The Believer and elsewhere. He’s also the author of the Eisner- and Harvey Award-winning Reading Comics: How Graphic Novels Work and What They Mean, the 33 1/3 volume James Brown Live at the Apollo, and (with artist Ulises Fariñas) Judge Dredd: Mega-City Two. Douglas lives in Portland, Oregon, and teaches comics history at Portland State University.
